Palm corn husker; a leather piece is shaped to fit the lower part of the palm of the hand, wrapping around the outside of the thumb and the edge of the hand opposite; a .38 in. wide strap passes between the edge of the palm and the thumb, through a hole in the flap around the thumb, across the back of the wrist to the opposite side, and back again to a buckle at the base of the thumb; a metal plate on the palm has a curved hook near the upper edge; “STARK’S DANDY” is incised on the metal plate, which is attached to the leather piece with four rivets; used to pull the husks from dried corn.Geographic Notes
