Description

Metal cartridge case used to carry ammunition during World War 2. It has a metal handle on the top and opens on the narrow end. There is a hinge on one side and a buckle / clasp on the other. There are spent shells inside. Cal .30 M1 is stamped into the box on both the front and back. (It holds 30 caliber bullets for the M1 rifle.) REEVES US is stamped on the end along with a "flaming Bomb" symbol that looks like a circle with a flame over it. When loaded, the box would hold 250 rounds on a cloth strip. The top of the box is removable and the box would be attached to the side of a machine gun and the strip fed into the gun for continuous firing.
