Description
Jackson bought wool from 1928-c1938 from farmers and wool buyers; he also had 500 sheep on shares; weighed wool in barn behind house at 817 Pacific Avenue; did spot checks to make sure farmers hadn't included dirty wool from near the sheep's tail to increase weight; wool was sewn into 6 to 7 foot burlap bags (see needle 90.8.1) by Jackson's son Henry; state inspected weights once a year; scale was later used to weigh scrap metal as well as wool.
