Description

Rope making machine; cast iron circular framework with integral legs; a gear turned by a crank on the back side turns four hooks on the front, one at the center and the other three arranged at the points of an equilateral triangle about the center; manufacturer’s name is cast into the front of the machine.

Rope is made by looping four strands of twine about the hooks on the front of the machine, and holding the opposite ends with a special holder (missing). As the crank is turned, the twine twists around the other strands to form a heavy rope.
