Description
Pre-Civil War copper powder flask with hunting dog motif, (see typed inventory inside old black ledger under G7). Cap is missing. From the P.H. Winship Memorial Collection donated to the West Central School of Agriculture in 1926. P.H. Winship was a doctor in South Dakota who resettled in Park Rapids with no local connection. He gave his private collection to the WCSA in the hopes of having it widely viewed, (see newspaper article in Winship donor file). We are unsure how the Winship objects were transfered from WCSA to the museum. The items we have from Winship were apparently part of the War Memorial Room (WRCC) collection.
