Description
A flue scraper or cleaner; consists of six (originally seven) flexible metal strips arranged evenly between two end caps; each strip is curved and spirals slightly between the ends, forming a bulging cylinder; screw threads in one end for attaching a handle; in use, the cylinder is inserted into the flue of a steam engine or similar machine and compresses slightly as the strips scrape deposits off the walls of the flue.

One of the original strips is missing; finish is corroded overall.
