Description
A rosesølje, a traditional Norwegian circular brooch; consists of a pierced, circular silver medallion with a flat pin at the center; seven (originally eight, one is now missing) laup, bowl-shaped ornaments with a rope-like pattern around the edge; probably belonged to Jørgine Baker Thomasson or one of her daughters.

The medallion has been unskillfully repaired, leaving uneven globs of solder on the front; apparently the back was filed flat with a coarse file; one laup is missing, the others are dented and slightly deformed; the loops of silver wire which attach the laup appear to have been reattached.
