Description

Hand sewn quilt of a variety of silk pieces. An oval piece in the center is embroidered with one pink and one red rose with green leaves & rosebuds. A tier of "tie end" necktie design surrounds the center. A black diamond design and small inserts follow, then an area of "crazy quilt" that includes 8 fan shapes. The border has a another "tie end" design in black and maroon with small insert. It is bound in olive green faille silk. The back is of white muslin. Hand stitching in black, white and green threads showing. Used in the Aage Peterson home in Starbuck.
