Description
Babbet bearing scraper. A heavy steel shaft set in a turned wooden handle; shaft widens at end to form a gouge-shaped scraping blade; end of blade is hand ground to a blunt curve; tool superficially resembles a screwdriver; used to scrape babbet (lead) bearings smooth after molding them in clay.
