Newspaper clippings from a scrapbook made by Phyllis Erickson, Willmar, MN.  
1.  October 1978, "Paynesville Woman Injured In Accident Here" (Gladys Beck)
2.  West Central Tribune, June 27, 1998.  An article by Forrest Peterson, "North Side has changed, but not always for the bad."  speaking of the North side of Town, mentioning many sights including the John Spicer home off Seventh Street that is on the historic registry.
3.  West Central Tribune, October 17, 2012.  "Willmar Council issues order for exterior repairs to historic house".  The home was on 515 Seventh ST NW and had become in disrepair.  It was built by John Spicer. 
4.  West Central Tribune, October 26, 2012. "Property that was home to members of prominent family on market".   This house is at 836 Ella Ave NW and was built in the early 1900s and was residence of Mason and Ella Spicer and Russell and Margaret Spicer.  This home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places 27 years ago.  
5.  West Central Tribune, September 12, 2014. "From Historic to History".  The home built by John M. Spicer circa 1873 was razed to make room for a Habitat for Humanity house.
