Description
Animal, Stuffed Teddy Ruxpin Bear. The bear is a stuffed animal. It has light brown fur. The head is stiff and is covered with fur. There is light brown hair at the top of the head between the ears. The center of the ears are tan. The eyes are plastic. They have a brown and black eyelid at the top, white eyeballs, reddish brown irises, and black pupils. The eyes move when the bear is on. The snout is tan with a black plastic like nose and a pink plastic tongue and mouth roof. The mouth is moveable and it moves when the bear is on. The arms and feet are stuffed and have light brown fur. The bottom of the feet are tan. The stomach is polyurethane foam. The back is the plastic casette tape player. The bear is wearing a soft rust orange one piece with medium length sleeves and shorts. Over it is a tan vest. The vest closes on the side with a piece of velcro. There is a silver colored metal snap half over the velcro. The left should strap closes with velcro. On the front right chest of the vest is a patch. The patch is white with embroidery. The top part of the patch is a rectangle with "Teddy Ruxpin" in red. There is a ".tm" in red above the "in". The bottom part of the patch is a circle with a head of a bear in brown with tan trim and a black border. The patch has a blue border. Attached to the back bottom of the right short leg is a white cloth label with black print. On one side is printed "OK (in circle) Teddy Ruxpin R (in circle)/C (in circle) 1984, 1985 Alchemy II, Inc./All rights reserved/Mfg. for wow Worlds of Wonder, Inc./Fremont, California 94538/Made in CHINA Reg. No. PA-1743/Do not immerse in water. Clean with damp cloth." There is red print behind the "Mfg." line. The print starts with "R" and the rest is unreadable. The other side of the label is written in English on the left side and Spanish? on the right side. Printed is "Not to be removed until/delivered to the consumer/This label is affixed in compliance/with the Upholstered and /Stuffed Articles Act/This article contains/NEW MATERIAL/ONLY/CONTENT POLYESTER/MOLDED POLYURETHANE FOAM". There is one vertical and three horizontal lines on that side. The back side of the bear contains the cassette tape player. The player is brown plastic.At the top of the player is a cream plastic dial for the volume. The vest has a cut out section for the dial. In raised design below the dial is the volume design of a solid circle, a long triangle on its side, and an open circle. Below that in raised print is "TEDDY RUXPIN R (in circle)/C (in cricle) ALCHEMY II, INC. 1985" and "WOW TM WORLDS OF WONDER, INC./FREMONT, CALIFORNIA 94538/PATENTS PENDING". In the center of the player is the cassette tape holder. There is a panel with an orange see through window to see the tape. The panel lifts up to reveal the cassette tape. There is a cassette tape in the player. It is titled "The Airship". The tape is white plastic. It has a light orange label with black print on both sides. Both sides have printed "WOW TM Worlds of Wonder, Inc. is the exclusive licensee, manufactuer and/distributer of the World of Teddy Ruxpin toys. C (in circle) P (in circle) Alchemy Communications Group, 1985/(arrow) (arrow)/Entire/program/recorded on/both sides./THE WORLD OF/TEDDY RUXPIN/The Airship". The tape player has silver colored metal and black and white plastic pieces. At the bottom of the player is the battery part. It uses 4 nine volt batteries. There is a panel with a lift tab on the bottom of each side and in raised print a triangle and "OPEN" above each tab. Inside the battery part at the top is a white piece of think paper with black print of a drawing of four batteries showing which way the go. Printed in purple on the paper is "K(?)(?)465" and "3". There is a white stick with black print on the paper that reads "EP/48-86". The battery part has silver colored metal.

The donor obtained the Teddy Ruxpin Bear at her job, circa 1984-1990s". She worked at the State Student Council Association from 1968-2001 (34 years). A State Student Concil Association speaker gave it to her for the council. Her grandchildren played with it.
