Dennis and Mary Koenig of Red Wing worked as enumerators for the 2000 United States census. They canvassed the area and looked for new housing developments, checking against address lists. They also went door to door to houses that had not responded to the census surveys. Dennis stated that the 2010 census information collected by enumerators is being done with handheld computers so the 2000 census was the last one where the information was collected by hand. He did not think that the 2010 enumerators can keep the information books they were given.
