Description

Jacket: Red Wing Department of Public Safety Parking Enforcement uniform jacket. The jacket is black nylon. It closes with a black zipper. There are two zipper heads. The collar can be folded down or zipped all the way up. Around the outside of the collar are six black plastic buttons (plus one missing) and on the inside are three black plastic buttons to button on a hood. There is a black epaulet with a black plastic button on the shoulders. The button has a raised laurel leaf around it. There are shoulder pads. On the right chest is an embroidered USA flag patch. On the left chest is embroidered in white "DEPARTMENT OF/PUBLIC SAFETY", below is a red and white wing, and below is "PARKING ENFORCEMENT". There is a large pocket on each front bottom side. There is one pleat down the center pocket. The pocket has a slightly pointed flap with a fake black plastic button with a raised laurel leaf around it. The two corners of the flap velcro. The side of the pockets are slit for hand pockets. On each shoulder is a black cotton ribbed octagon shaped patch with a red embroidered edge. In the center is the state of Minnesota in yellow with a blue Minnesota River and Upper and Lower Red Lakes and a red star at the location of Red Wing. Over the center of the state is a large red wing. In yellow above the state is "RED WING/PUBLIC SAFETY" and below is "PARKING/ENFORCEMENT". The cuffs are elastic and have a nylon strip that velcros to adjust the size. The jacket has a 2 3/8" wide waistband. The waistband is elastic on the sides and back. On each bottom side is a black zipper that goes to a little ways under the arm. There is a snap at the bottom of the zipper. At the top back of the jacket in white reflective plastic like letters is "PARKING/ENFORCEMENT". On the inside jacket on the lower right side is a horizontal slit pocket. On the lower left side are two horizontal slit pockets. The top pocket has a strap with a snap that snaps just above the pocket. At the top back under the neck is a purple label with gold "Horace Small R/Professional Apparel/a division of VF Workwear/NEW GENERATION R 2 (in white)". To the right of the label is attached a small white size label with black "XXL" and under that is another white label with black "MADE IN/CHINA". On the inside left side seam above the side zipper is a white label with black print. On the front side is "NEW GENERATION 2/STYLE NO. HS 3319 13804T/SHELL:'/100% NYLON/LINING:/100% NYLON/MADE IN CHINA/OVER FOR CARE". On the back side is "RN 15220/MACHINE WASH COLD/WITH MILD DETERGENT/WITH LIKE COLORS/REMOVE PROMPTLY/TUMBLE DRY LOW/DO NOT STORE WET/DO NOT BLEACH/DO NOT DRY CLEAN". The instructions are printed in two other languages. At the bottom are five care instructions. Condition - One button on the outside of the collar is missing.

Worn by Parking Enforcement Officer Luanna Bonbargen. The donor stated that the jacket was worn up to 2008, when a new uniform was issued.
