Description
Jacket: U.S. Army Desert Camouflage Uniform jacket of the Battle Dress Uniform worn from 2003-2005. The jacket is cotton and nylon. It is light tan with large splotches of pale green and brown. It has a fold down pointed collar. On the right collar is a tan ribbed cotton rectangle patch with a black embroidered eagle with a shield in its center holding arrows in its right claw and an olive branch in its left claw (Colonel). On the left collar is a tan ribbed cottn rectangle patch with a brown embroidered torch with a circle behind it and a crossed sword arnd rolled scroll in front (Civil Affairs - branch of service). There are 5 tan plastic closure buttons. The button holes for the bottom 4 buttons are on a separate layer of material underneath. There is a staple at the top of the layer. On each side is a breast pocket. The outerside of the pocket bellows out. The pockets have a straight flap that velcros with tan velcro. Under the flap is 2 button holes. Inside the left pocket is a long narrow pocket on the back side for writing utensils. Above the right pocker are two tan woven patches that are 5 1/4" long x 1" high. The top patch has the name Allen in Arabic embroidered in brown. The bottom patch as "ALLEN" embroidered in brown. Above the left pocket is the same type of patch with "U.S. ARMY" embroidered in brown. There is a lower pocket on each side. The outerside of the pocket bellows out. They have a straight flap that velcros with tan velcro. Under the flap is 2 button holes. They are larger than the breast pockets. On each upper arm is a pocket. The outerside of the pocket bellows out, with the bottom corner of that side sewn down. The pockets have a straight flap that velcros with tan velcro. Under the flap is 2 button holes. On each arm pocket is a large vertical rectangle pice of tan velcro. Velcroed on the right pocket is an embroided tan arc tab patch with brown embroidered "MOUNTAIN". Below it is a tan rectangle patch with rounded sides. It is outlined in brown and has two brown embroidered crossed swords (10th Mountain Division - Desert). Below it is and embroided red, white, and blue American flag outlined in gold patch. The flag is backwards. Velcroed on the left pocket is an embroidered tan arc tab patch with brown embroidered "AIRBORNE". Below it is a tan shield patch with brown embroided sword with two lightening bolts behind it (U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command). The elbows have a large reinforced overlay of material. The cuffs have 3 tan plastic buttons and a short pointed tab with one button hole. On the inside back center neck is a tan label with black "LARGE-REGULAR/HEIGHT: FROM 67 to 71 IN./CHEST: FROM 41 TO 45 IN./STOCK NO: 8415-01-327-5313/NATO SIZE: 7080/0414". On the inside bottom right pocket is a tan label with black "COAT, DESERT CAMOUFLAGE/PATTERN: COMBAT/50% NYLON/50% COTTON/SPO 100-97-D-CB11/UNICOR-GREENVILLE, IL/1. Wear outside of trousers./2. Adjust closures to waistline, avoid overheating/of body/3. Machine washing. Use Permanent Press Cycle./Wash in warm water with mild detergent./4. Hand washing. Wash in warm water using mild/detergent. DO NOT WRING OR TWIST./Rinse in clean warm water/5. DO NOT USE CHLORINE BLEACH OR/STARCH./6. Dry at low heat(Do not exceed 130 F). After/drying, tumble at room temperature for 10/minutes. Remove immediately from dryer. To/drip dry, remove from water and place on rust/proof hanger./DO NOT REMOVE THIS LABEL ". Condition - There is a white stiff stain on the inside left arm pocket. There are a few light black and brown stains/marks throughout. There is a dark and light brown area above the left arm pocket where a patch was. There are small holes on the back lower right side.

Worn by Colonel Ronald Allen of Red Wing. He served in the United States Army Reserve, 10th Mountain Division with the Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command. Allen was stationed in the Kabul area of Afghanistan from July 8, 2003, to May 8, 2005.
