Jacket: 1998 Governor's Fishing Opener jacket. The jacket is maroon rayon. There is a half zipper at the neck. The collar, cuffs, and waistband are maroon polyester with two 1/2" wide yellow stripes outlined in white. The collar is 2 1/2" wide, the cuffs are 3" wide, and the waistband is 3" wide. There is a trapezoid shaped pocket at the bottom center of the jacket. On the left chest is the embroidered emblem. It is a gold outlined rectangle with gold print inside that says "FISHING FOR GOLD IN/RED WING, MN/50th/GOVERNOR'S FISHING OPENER/MAY 9th, 1998". To the right is a green fish. On the right bottom sleeve is the Treasure Island Resort and Casino embroidered emblem. It has a blue and pink toucan, green palm trees and a hill in the back, and below it in blue is "Treasure Island" and below that in pink is "RESORT & CASINO". The inside of the jacket is lined with white cotton. On the inside back neck is a blue tag with white "Holloway XXXL". Below it in gray is "MADE IN USA/WPL 11783". On the left side of the tag is a gray circle with a blue "H". On the inside bottom right side is a white tag with black "SHELL: 100% RAYON/LINING: 100% COTTON/TRIM: 100% POLYESTER/#8/MACHINE WASH COLD/GENTLE CYCLE, DO NOT/BLEACH OR USE FABRIC/SOFTENER, REMOVE FROM/WASHER IMMEDIATELY/DRIP DRY ON/NON METAL HANGER/WPL 11703/03-16-98". Attached to the outside left lower sleeve are two large paper tags with color print. One tag describes "Jackets By Holloway" and the other tag describes "CAPROLAN/NYLON". Condition - Good. The jacket is brand new.
The jacket was for guests at the 1998 Governor's Fishing Opener 50th Anniversary held at Red Wing in May 1998. The guides' jackets had hoods on them.
