Description
Skirt: World War II US Women's Naval Reserves (WAVES) Service Dress Blue skirt. The skirt is navy blue wool. It is knee length and is 29" long. The skirt has 6 gores. There is a zipper on the left side with a tab with one navy blue plastic 3/4" button and two hooks and eyes. The waistband is 1 1/2" wide. On each upper front side is a slit stand pocket. The pockets are lined with navy blue rayon. On the inside back waistband is a white label with blue "Marion E. Vanberg". All seams are pinked. The hem is 3/4" wide and has navy blue rayon binding. Condition - There are no holes or stains. MOLD - The skirt had mold. It was laid out to dry and was vacuumed on 1/5/2006.

Worn by Marion E. Vanberg Mincieli of Red Wing. She served in the US Women's Naval Reserves (WAVES) 10 February 1943-19 April 1945. She trained at USNYS: Bronx, New York; NATTC: Aviation Machinist Mate School, Norman OK; NAAS: Chase Field, Beeville TX. She was an Aviation Machinist Third Class (AMM 3/c).
