Description
Spear: Wooden punji stick with a pointed end.

From ealier PastPerfect description: "Vietnam War punji stick. The punji stick is made of light brown bamboo? One end is pointed and the other end is slightly pointed with a flat tip. One side is smooth and is from the exterior of the bamboo. The other three sides are rough and are from the interior of the bamboo. There is a notch on one side. There is a slight groove running the length of the stick on the back side.

The donor stated that the punji stick was buried under vegation and was covered with excrement to infect the wound.

Richard Johnson is a 26-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps (Artillery). He was a graduate from the U.S. Navy War College. He served 2 tours in Vietnam. He served from November 10, 1954-June 30, 1980. He served from 1965-1966 as a battery commander and from 1969-1970 as an operations officer. He retired from the Marine Corps as a Colonel in 1980."
