Slip: Black rayon? full length slip. The very top of the bust is medium green. The front has a V cut in the center and goes up on each front side in a ^^ shape. The back is straight cut. There are 1/4" wide cream crepe? straps. The straps have been looped and safety pinned in the front to make them shorter. There is a breast dart. The sides of the bust have been taken in. There is a right triangular wedge at the bottom on the sides of the skirt. Condition - The fabric is worn and has small snags under the arms. The bottom center of the V neck is coming detached from the bodice. There are a few small white spots. The stains are probably not mold, but the slip was lightly vacuumed on 11/10/2008.

Worn by Clara Lillyblad of Red Wing. Clara was born on 8/29/1886 in Fergus Falls. At the age of 15, she came to Red Wing and worked as a waitress at the St. James Hotel. She married Charles Lillyblad in 1914. She operated the St. James Hotel since her husband's death in 1931. She died on 6/24/1972. The donor's husband, Arthur, was Clara's son.
