Description

Black rayon? full slip. It goes with dress 2007.32.14. The slip is mid-calf length. The front top bodice is pointed above each breast. There are 3/8" wide rayon straps with a metal adjustable loop. In the front center bust the seams form a square panel. The back top is straight cut. There is a waist seam. There is a zipper on the right side. The skirt has a slight flare. On the inside center bust seam is the remnants of a white label with blue "Lot/Si__ ". Condition - MOLD? - The slip may have had mold. It was laid out to dry and was vacuumed on 2/14/2006. The metal adjustable loops on the straps are corroding.

Worn by donor's mother Harriet Martensen Bastel Whaley of Red Wing. She was born in 1903 and died in 1987. Harriet's first husband, Frank Bastel, died in 1947. Her second husband was William Whaley.
