Description

45° 10X80 Flakglas Fernrohr (Flak glass telescope) produced by Jos. Schneider & Co. of Bad Kreuznach. Produced in large numbers, they were used by the German Wehrmacht during WWII. These binoculars were used specifically with 8.8 cm Flak 18/36/37/41 anti-aircraft guns for spotting enemy aircraft. The right eyepiece is stationary while the left can move to allow adjustment to one's eye width. Both side features lens filters that range between klar (clear), hell (light), mittel (middle), and dunkel (dark). This pair is incomplete as the left lens and glare shield is missing, as well as the top accessory rail and brow support.
