A black and dark brown winter bonnet / cap / hat. The outer layer is velvet and the inner lining is cotton. They are quilted together with batting for warmth. The bonnet has ribbons and beading. It was once elaborately decorated, but the ribbons are disintegrating and the beads have fallen off in places. There are ruffles around the face and ribbons to tie under the chin.
