Description
The notebook has a brown cloth cover. There is much faded black printing on the coveer. Top says 'Memorandum' with a symbol surrounded by a circle in the center and the dates '1919-1920' near the bottom. Front fly leaf has a 1919 calendar. Title page says 'Compliments of the National Lutheran Commission for Soldiers' and Sailors' Welfare represtnting The united Lutheran Church in AMerica, The Joint Synod of Ohio, The Iowa Synod, The Norwegian Lutheran Church of America, the Buffalo Synod, The Danish Lutheran Church, The Eielsons Synod, The Icelandic Synod, The United Danish Lutheran Church, The Suomi Synod, the Lutheran Free Church and the Canadian Lutheran Commission' 'New York 437 Fifth Avenue. Back of title page has morning and eveningprayers. Next page has a listing of sevice houses and social centers. There are handwritten notes in pencil about farming schedules, weather. One page has a drawing of a 'Milk stule' There are notes in the back half about time in the service from Jan. 4, 1918 to out of service on July 10, 1919, home July 11. Ends with note about hurting foot on July 19 at 10 o'clock.
There are more notes of expenses and other service members names and cities. The last few pages are a printed 'A Soldier's Catechism". Back fly leaf has a 1920 Calendar.
