Description
A Flammang's Pantent Revolving Back Camera Front Focus produced by the American Optical Co., a division of the Scovill Mfg. Co. The camera is constructed out of mahogany with brass fittings and red bellows. It can be focused using the rack and pinion located on the foldable bed on the front portion of the camera. Using either wet or dry glass plates, the camera features a double-plate holder by the Seneca Camera Mfg. Co. The revolving back, patented by Mathias Flammang, allows the photographer to take pictures in either a portrait or landscape orientation without having to adjust the entire camera. The pneumatic shutter was manufactured by the Rochester Optical Co. with lenses by Bausch + Lomb. It stands on a collapsible wooden tripod produced by the Folmer & Schwing Mfg. Co.
