A typical radio range receiver used in the late 1930's on private planes ( Smithsonian) Identification numbers on front of receiver: Model AVR-15  RCA Serial No. 717 Wt. 4.75 lbs. C.A.A.T.C.the unit has2 glass bulbs intact, 3 cords that would plug into a unit, a dial on the front with numbers 200 to 400, a volume knob, and a switch turned to VAR. The other side of switch has 278 KC.
