DuMontDescription
A 5890-B8 type frequency deviation meter produced by DuMont. This meter measures the difference in a modular signal's minimum and maximum frequency. Instruments such as this were used to set FM transmitters on vehicular and base stations for mobile FM systems, in this case the Minnesota Highway Department. The meter comes with a detachable antenna and an input jack for an unidentifiable attachment. Also included is a tolerance certificate from the Service Shop Department of the General Electric Minneapolis branch and a booklet showing "Crystal Frequency Deviation vs. Temperature Curves." However, the certificate and booklet are designated for two other meters aside from the one in the collection.
