Black fabric bonnet; fabric (crepe?) is gathered in concentric rings over a wire framework; trimmed with pink silk flowers and black netting at center front; short black ostrich plume at right; two long (ca. 30.5 in.) grosgrain ribbon neck ties; maker’s mark inside crown.
A large (ca. 8.5 in. long, 3 in. wide) hatpin is attached to the crown of the bonnet with the head at the right side; head of hatpin is trimmed with gold metallic netting and jet beads.
Bonnet was a gift, ca. 1915, to Bridget Diamond Conroy from her daughter, Nora [m. Funk, later of St. Paul]. Said by donor to have cost $75.00.
