Description
Black and white photograph from Irene McDevitt and Dolph "Doc" Reinke's wedding on Wednesday afternoon, October 24, 1951 at Saint Mary's Church in Shakopee. The wedding party included (from left to right) Jack Lannon (best man), Dolph "Doc" Reinke (groom), Irene McDevitt (bride), and Theresa McDevitt (maid of honor and bride's younger sister).
The groom and best man wore matching light colored double breasted suits and white flower boutonnieres. As the marriage announcement in the Shakopee Argus Tribune notes, "the bride wore a plumb gabardine suit fashioned with fitted jacket, slightly padded hipline, and full skirt. The suit was adorned with jewel buttons with a velvet accent at the neckline" (Nov 1, 1951, 5-5). She also wore a black velvet hat. Another announcement in the Shakopee Valley News notes, "the maid of honor...wore a grey gabardine suit fashioned identical to that of the bride" (Nov 1, 1951, 7-1). Both women also wore corsages of white chrysanthemums and carnations. The four stood in front of a non-descript wall.
The photograph is in a carboard stand that reads "The Werner Studio - Chaska" below the left corner of the image.
