Description

"Many colors, such as pink, blues, grays, etc., were plaited into this oblong rug made by the Chippewas. Different numbers of strips are braided together for different parts of the rug, which won first prize at the Chippewa Fair."

The rug is not actually braided, but rather woven. It is worn and quite faded on the front. The colors are more vibrant on the back.
