Description
A large glass blue tinted canning jar and lid has the word "Norge" embossed in the glass of both parts.  The metal screw top portion is not included. Norge glass, according to the Norwegian Wikipedia, was produced in Norway from 1908 to 1978. The invention of the screw top actually came from Yorkshire, England, where John Kilner Glass Company invented and produced screw top preserving jars from 1842 to 1937. Other countries and producers copied the idea. These jars were produced in Norway for seventy years. For the years 1958-1978, they were produced at Moss Glassverk, a glass factory that has now become a residential area of Moss, Norway.
