The Fox Hotel opened in October 1894. The hotel was a popular spot for people traveling to and from Austin by train. The Fox Hotel dining room was known to provide delicious meals to both travelers and locals. The "original" part of the hotel built by Charles Fox features a French style Mansard roof. His son, Irvin, added the addition on the north side of the building in 1913. The hotel closed in 1965. This location is the current home of Wells Fargo.
