Description
Photograph of the Glenwood High School football field, one of the most publicized in the upper Midwest and probably the State of Minnesota, has faded into history. History was made on this field October 30, 1930 when Glenwood High School met Melrose High School for the first game played "under the lights" in Minnesota.
The old Glenwood High School field has been purchased by the City of Glenwood and future football games will be held at the Glenwood Athletic Field in behind the High School in Glenwood.
E.N. Nordgaard poses with some of the players he coached during the early days of the Glenwood High School football field. Pictured, left to right, Cliff Hansen, Howard Vegoe, Clarence Buchholz, Roy Vegoe played on winning Laker teams in the late 1920's.
