Description

This railroad was opened in 1870 by the Lake Superior & Mississippi Railroad. After bankruptcy in 1877, it was purchased by the St.Paul & Duluth Railroad and operated until 1900 when it was acquired by the Northern Pacific Railroad. The depot in early Maplewood was at Gladstone that was later renamed to Gloster.
