Arbolado school district 33 on County Road C and Highway 61Creation Date
circa 1950Description
In 1926, this four-classroom building for School District 33 was constructed in the northeast corner of Highway 61 and County Road C and was named Arbolado - Spanish for woodland. It replaced an earlier one-room school building that was constructed in 1889 that became overcrowded and did not have a clean water supply. By 1957, Arbolado was also overcrowded and students were transferred to nearby Hazelwood school. Arbolado was demolished in 1992 and in 2000, Forest Products Supply constructed their factory building on the site.
