Description
Letter to Katharine Bilodeau from her mother.
July 8th

Dear Kathy,
Sure glad to get all your letters. I guess when we hear from you we forget you don’t hear from us.
We got back OK from our trip at 11:00 AM today. We went to Rush Lake up near Fergus Falls. Our accommodations were not of the best, but I had a lot of rest and Fred plenty of fishing. I caught none as usual but Fred got only one under the limit. We gave Jewsons some. We had northern pike & hush puppies for supper.
Dena told me that Hore & Virginia are coming up July 16th to stay two weeks. Dena said of course we want them to stay with us!
We are signing a lease for a year so we won’t to have to move. Charlie is going to paper my bedroom and varnish all the woodwork. He will have his summers work cut out for him.
The Martzes came home from their vacation and he got drunk as usual---“Help I’m drowning!”
Mrs. Nalis’ grandson’s wife had a baby boy just the day before he went to California to take a new job!
Old Mr. Chapman died. The funeral was about two weeks ago. They are going to sell the house. I hope they sell all their household goods & I’ll buy some antiques!
Fred hasn’t had any boils for about two weeks and he is going back to work!
Finally met Jim, Donna’s B.F. He’s alright!
Believe it or not we finally got the curtains up in the sun parlor and the T.V. in the living room and it works much better, and we can all see it in comfort.
Sorry about Peggy’s baby takes so long to arrive. Hope everything is all right with her.
Cheer up! The weather and atmospheric pressure are all against you! You will be happier when the weather clears.
Glad to have a good time on your days off—that’s all I work for too, my days off!
Oh by the way tell Peggy she will have her baby when the moon changes!
Donnie, Georgia and the kids are going up to a lake for a week.
Bert Oslund gave us three tickets for the big night Shriner Parade. We are all going. We bought Thelma a cotton house coat for her birthday. It’s real pretty---I got it at Liebs. She got so many pretty presents.
We went on a picnic the 4th I worked and Fred picked me up at work---Lizzie had a lunch all packed---We drove to Elk River and had supper on the banks of the Mississippi. It was as windy as could be, but we had fun---Later we drove to Monticello. Fred & I came home alone and Liz came home.
