Description

This is a 4 piece wash basin set that was owned by Alma Hansen. Alma immigrated by herself from Norway. She came to New York and went to Chicago to work in a large home. She spoke only Norwegian. A plumber, Thomas (Tobias) Hansen, who also spoke only Norwegian came to the house on a job, and he eventually became Alma's husband.
The large pitcher and bowl are an undecorated white. There are two smaller pieces, both of which are an undecorated white. The soap dish is round with a cover. There is a piece that fits inside with a hole for drainage. The small pitcher has a handle, but no spout. Each piece has a Makers mark with an L and an H. Homer Laughlin. Each piece has what appear to be either letters and/or numbers, but cannot be sure of what they are.
