Title

Pencil Holder

Description

A metal bullet pencil holder with the label "Souvenir of Minneapolis, MN." Originally painted red, the color has faded to pink. This pencil holder is missing the actual holder and its eraser has blackened and hardened.

A bullet pencil holder, as the name suggests, is a pencil holder in the shape of a rifle bullet cartridge. In fact, the first renditions of these pencil holders were made of spent cartridges. A removable insert holds the pencil, with the pencil having the ability to be inserted into the casing in order to protect the tip from breaking.
