Title
Woodworking shop at St. Paul and Duluth Railroad maintenance shops Description
From 1887 - 1915, workers in this building in Gladstone repaired and constructed the wooden railroad cars for the SP&D Railroad. These included passenger cars, box cars, cabooses and flat cars. Metal cars were not constructed until the early 1900's - after these shops closed and the work transferred elsewhere. The building was then used as a warehouse until it was demolished in 1979.
