A brass bullet pencil holder produced by the Advertising Novelty Co. in style no. 3030.  This specific holder is a product sample and lists the other colors that it could be made in on the pearlescent label. The insert which holds the pencil has been lost.

A bullet pencil holder, as the name suggests, is a pencil holder in the shape of a rifle bullet cartridge. In fact, the first renditions of these pencil holders were made of spent cartridges. A removable insert holds the pencil, with the pencil having the ability to be inserted into the casing in order to protect the tip from breaking.
