Description
Columbia high wheel bicycle with 54 inch front wheel and 17 inch back wheel. Handle bars are made of wood and seat is made of leather. A phosphorous lamp hangs at the center of the front wheel and reads "Columbia Lamp, The Pop Mfg. Co. Boston." This bike was donated to HHM in 1939 by Fred Pierce of Minneapolis. This bicycle was bought and used by Fred Pierce as a young man. This bicycle cost Pierce about $170. It has been in Hennepin County since 1880.
