Dr. Requa's Dental Cabinet

Description

Black lacquered wood dental cabinet with doors and drawers.  All of the doors and drawers have white glass knobs.  The upper portion of the cabinet has two doors with glass and glass interior and shelves.  There is a small shelf and then several drawers in various depths to hold tools.  There are glass inserts in the drawers.  The white glass interiors and trays were meant to be easily disinfected.  It was manufactured by the American Cabinet Company in Two Rivers, WI around 1931 (serial number 64410.)Dr. Requa started practicing in Austin in 1957 and purchased the cabinet at that time.  He used it primarily for storage.  It was previously used by Dr. Picarna (and possibly Dr. Lillihie).
