A 20 reed Concert Roller Organ organette produced by the Autophone Co. An organette is a type of programmable reed organ introduced in the 1870s. It is powered by hand and plays pin barrels known as "cobs." The organette was a popular form of home entertainment in North America until the rise of the phonograph. Organettes produced by the Autophone Co. were sold exclusively by Sears, Roebuck & Co.
