Description
This uniform was worn by Eugene Erickson in the Korean War. o8783.1  This navy blue wool  jumper top has a V neck, the sailor color, the stitched bodice piece front and back, an open pocket on the left chest, and long sleeves. The sleeve insignia consists of the Eagle, 2 red chevron bars and a white embroidered symbol between the Eagle and the bars which is the insignia for Boilermaker.  Under the collar is a tag: Manufactured by Naval Clothing Factory; Name E Erickson; Rate 6.  Erickson E is stamped on the back lower band of the uniform top.o8783  The navy blue wool trousers have a zipper pocket at the left waistband and an open pocket at the right waistband. The waist band closes with 2 buttons and the front of the trousers has a 13 button closing flap, or "broadfall". These 13 buttons represent the 13 original colonies. The back has a laced area for size adjustment. Erickson G is stamped on the front inside waistband. The tag reads: Manufactured By Naval Clothing Factory : E Erickson 6.
