The first part entitled Service in Submarines shows the life of Commander Howard Gillmor, who was the first submarine commander to receive the Medal of Honor. The second part which was titled Two Ace of Aces examined the life of Captain Richard I. Bong who flew a P-38 Lightning in WWII and was the second Ace of Aces breaking the record of the first Ace of Aces who flew in WWI. What Bong lacked in aim, he made up for in flight skills making it so he could get so close to enemy planes that aim no longer mattered earning him the medal of honor which was presented to him by General Mac Arthur. And Finally, the last part, part 3, was titled This is Your Life and it explored the life and service of Desmond Doss who was a religious man so against killing that he was almost kicked out of training for not practicing the use of any weapons such as rifles or bayonets during training. When he finally made it to combat he never killed one person but instead saved countless injured American lives. In the prosses of saving lives, Doss was shot himself and sent home to his wife and son in the U.S. where he received the Medal of Honor.
