Description
Blouse / bodice- part of wedding dress worn by Mrs. Frank Eddy at their wedding June 24, 1885. It is made from taupe colored silk faille and lined with tan cambric, shaped to the figure of the bride and held in shape by four stays at the front, two at the side, and one up the back. The bodice has long fitted sleeves, and a high collar with a band of delicately tatted lace at the top. The front is ornamented with ball trim to the bust line, 19 button holes and 14 metal buttons with ornate tops. Five pearl buttons replace those lost at the top. Originally it had a real lace collar and a jabot fastened with a cameo brooch. A drawn-work handkerchief replaces the jabot. (The handkerchief is missing.)
