Description
White ceramic vase with a painted decal of two young girls in long pastel dresses. Gold-painted fillagree handles. Lip is also gold-painted and unevenly scalloped. There is a blue flower painted on the back. This was donated in 1958 by Alice Ochs Walker of Minneapolis. Alice was born to a wagon maker and raised in Chaska, MN. She married George A. Walker, a chemist, in 1909. They moved to NE Minneapolis and lived there the rest of their lives. George died in 1931 and Alice died in 1957. They had no children. Alice was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis Athletic Club and the Historical societies of Hennepin and Carver counties.
