Description
"An 8 inch high by 9 3/4 inch in diameter round waste basket made entirely of birch bark with designs drawn into it, by the Chippewa (Ojibwa) Indians who made it. The Indians knew how to take fresh birch bark and make their drawings, like we used to do as children when we would gather dry fungus and make our drawings while it was still fresh. The top, bottom and sides are laced in black which is basswood fiber, used as lacings on all Chippewa work."

There are 3 panels making up the sides of the basket. Each panel has a unique geometric design in the bark.
