Description
Garters - Women's of shirred ribbon, one set pale blue, the other pink. They are stretched over a round paper form. Silken ribbon .75" wide and edges in white thread with elastic inside and lined with plain pink or blue fabric. Ribbon rosettes are sewn over the closings.
"These lovely garters answered the question of how to keep one's sticking up. Stockings of this period were black, of cotton, some lisle (cotton fabric pressed flat), some sheer and this type called for Sunday-best in good looks. (On washday Monday, one was back to a round of plain elastic.) - From the original subject card.
