Description

This bronze casting was made by Israeli artist Ruth Bloch. It was purchased in May of 2005 from a gallery in Paris, France. It was purchased by Dr. Wells as a memorial to his first wife Barbara Cumming Wells. Barbara was the 3rd child of Dr. John & Helen Cumming. Dr. Cumming was a tri-county doctor based in Morris during the Great Depression (he died in 1939). Barbara’s ashes were buried at her father’s grave in Morris and the Wells write, “we are placing the memorial to SCHS in Morris because Morris is where Barbara’s heart remained even though she resided in San Antonio, Texas”.
