Description
Many Danes immigrated to America on ships from this line. The sign was displayed in Minnesota to encourage immigrants to book passage for relatives to join them in America. The sign is "trompe l'oeil" or "fool the eye" as it looks like an oil painting in a wooden frame but is in fact a very lightweight pressed tin form that is painted.
