Description
"Medium brown and dark brown stripes are woven alternately in this fat-bowled basket made from honeysuckle. A short neck is narrower than the rest of the basket, which is 10 inches in diameter and 9 1/2 inches high. This is a very valuable honeysuckle basket because the dark brown is dyed with a natural vegetable dye-walnut. The basket comes from the North Carolina Cherokees."

There are 16 rows per inch.

2007 - Honeysuckle baskets were always made to sell. They were art objects rather than practical pieces.
